Second Rate as in how terrible Shared Photo Streams are on the PC. I was in a pretty active Shared Photo Stream, and it was a terrible experience. Also, the normal photo stream takes forever to Sync down to the Windows Client (that part may improve, but I don't expect Shared Streams to be much better, if better at all).
iCloud PIM isn't a great experience if you aren't using Microsoft Outlook or want to live in a Web Browser.
Safari isn't in development for Windows anymore, so things like Reading List are unusable from the PC.
I don't expect feature parity on the PC end, but what they're putting out I cannot consider usable for me in this day and age, especially since I'm pretty adamant about keeping the amount of redundant accounts and services I use down to bare minimum.
Most people don't make a choice between a tablet and a PC or Laptop, Lol. You can get a decent tablet for $300 or thereabouts these days - even from Apple. The price disparity put the two on a different plane of consideration for the vast majority of people.
It's not *that* big a deal. I just won't buy it, and that will ultimately make upgrade decisions a bit easier for me in a few months.
I'm cautiously optimistic. Baylor/Scott & White were listed on the slide with the other initial HealthKit partners, so hopefully that means that Siemens and NextGen are on board too. I'm the lead NextGen EHR developer for my health system; I anticipate a lot of doctors asking if this will be available when iOS 8 is launched.I'm excited about Epic Systems integration in HealthKit. I'm an Epic Consultant and this is very exciting news...I love my career
