Ever since the update, my iPhone 4's signal has been dropping to 1x a lot.

Ever since the update my i4 has been dropping to 1x a lot. Some callers even say I disappear for a few sec.
I've updated my roaming. Doesn't seem to help. It's not inky in calls it's also loading apps they take FOREVER to load..

Anyone else?

Try going to Settings - General -Reset and then choosing "Reset Network Settings". If that doesn't work, and if you're referring to iOS 7.1, and if you updated OTA, I recommend that you backup your device, put it DFU mode, connect it to your computer, initiate the computer's iTunes app, and select to restore it. Afterwards, set it up as a new device and NOT from a backup.
