    Anyone know what the trigger is for the dark theme to come on? Driving tonight it never switched off the light/day theme. It was well after sundown so not sure why it didn't switch. Thanks!

    It should happen at, or very close to sunset at your location as you've noted... Might be you need a reboot of your device...

    I've also noticed the same problem. Haven't used Apple Maps in a while though so not sure if the problem still exists

    I have iOS 7.0.4 and it just happened on my travels tonight, hence the posting. As mentioned above, the recommended reboot fixed the issue. Not sure the root cause, quite puzzling.
