"Your phone has never been backed up to iCloud" problem!

I backed it up last night & today shortly before updating to iCloud and to my desktop. It even showed both times iTunes and my iPhone both DID show that the iCloud and "this computer" backups showed were successfully backed-up. Now that i've updated my iPhone 5, i'm getting the message in Itunes that I've never backed up this device to icloud. When I go under icloud in my iphone settings, it shows I last backed up today shortly before updating. Is there any way I can fix this?

Did you back up to iCloud via wifi? I made that mistake last week and found that I lost a lot of my data, even though I backed everything up.

I was plugged in, on wifi, and also on my carrier signal.
