Verizon Activation in "Extended" Network?

Has anyone previously been able to activate a new, Verizon, iPhone in an Extended network?

I ask because I will be visiting my parents on September 20th and when I can preorder the iPhone 5s, I was going to mail it to their house. I wonder if I will be able to activate it since they live in a roaming area, which shows up as "Extended" network on my current iPhone 5.

Anyone with previous experience know?

I couldn't do that with anything other than an LTE device. I live in an extended area and it was a PiTA to try an activate my 4/4s. With my iPhone 5 it has been seamless.

Ditto, I had an issue activating when I had my iPhone 4 mailed to their house.

Since then when reinstalling firmware at their house I never really had an issue.

I was curious if other people in "Extended" Network had an issue doing a fresh activation.

Thank for the reply @mfldmike

It was considered a fresh activation, I had to get a new SIM card and restore via DMF.

You won't have a problem with the iPhone 5+

I also know because the iPhone 5+ is an LTE device, you cannot perform manual PRL updates as well. *228 is a restricted number
