On iOS 6, you could simply double tap the home button, and scroll to the left to get to the music app. Is there a similar option for iOS 7?

Yup. Just scroll up for your fast access screen.

Just swipe up, once in control center, tap on the title of the song (just above the play button).

Even if you don't already having something playing, you can press the play button, it'll start something, and then click the song title to launch the full Music app.

It not only launches the music.app, it depends on the last app ran that supports it like podcasts.app, audible, vlc...
