Following the tutorial here: How to Overclock iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4!
Edited the fstab file, to the EXACT following:
/dev/disk0s1 / hfs rw 0 1
/dev/disk0s2 /private/var hfs rw 0 2
su
[your SSH password here]
sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency_max=750000000
sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency=750000000
sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency_min=300000000
/dev/disk0s1 / hfs rw 0 1
/dev/disk0s2 /private/var hfs rw 0 2
After I overwrited the file I rebooted my iphone, and i got stuck to the following screen:
Then that shockwave struck through my body.
Anyways before i edited the fstab, I created a backup fstab on my desktop. Could I enter my phone without being on iOS through filezilla/ssh (whatever) and restore fstab somehow?
By the way im looking at my own post and I forgot to fill out [your ssh password here] I feel so dumb XO well it was 1:00 AM in the morning... Would filling that out actually have the overclock hack/edit work?
Btw, I am NOT looking to restore the phone. just wondering how to get in my phone without it being on iOS
