Stock apps or 3rd party apps?

What do you guys think and why?

Can you be a tad more specific? In general, both stock & third party apps provide a service that users may or may not use. Also generally speaking, 3rd party apps provide abilities that may be lacking from their stock counterparts. Below are a few stock & 3rd party counterparts for you to compare on your own.

1. Notes vs Evernote
2. Reminders vs Any.Do
3. Weather vs WeatherOn
4. Safari vs Chrome
5. Maps vs Waze

Like a lot of users, I use both stock and 3rd party apps. Why? They both serve a purpose in regard to how I manage my time via my iPhone.

Well I have always been a stock app or whatever type of person. I have read blogs about people who use stock only apps are really getting only half the experience. If anyone is willing to to give me some really good alternatives to stock app like you did, I would be more than happy to give them a try. Thanks!

I couldn't get by with just stock apps. For instance, there isn't a stock app to store my passwords and other important data securely on my device so I opted for DataVault. I read a lot of blogs, articles and news stories via RSS feeds and there isn't a stock RSS reader so I opt to use Reeder and Feeddler Pro. There isn't a stock Twitter app, although I can post a tweet without a Twiiter app, so I opt to use Tweetbot. The list can go on and on depending on what your wants & needs.

I know, I know,

And I use Twitter a lot.
I'm gonna have to bite the dust sooner or later. But I'm using my MacBook Air a lot during my Tweet hours so I been using Twitter app and Twitter.com. (Tweetbot for Mac is about $30 - WOW!)

Wow no app is worth 30 bucks! I'd stick with the stock app for that price!

It's the Mac app not the iOS one that's $30.

No twitter app is worth 30 bucks IMO!

The price is high but that's mainly twitter's fault. Twitter basically limited the number of users each app could have to 100K so in order to recoup their costs tweetbot made the price high.

I use both stock apps and 3rd party apps. I try the stock app but if it doesn't meet my needs then I look for an alternate app.

Things I don't really use:
Newsstand
Compass
Stocks
Reminders

So I guess that, for me, the included apps usually do a pretty good job of what they were built to do...but there are still a ton of third party apps I couldn't live without, either!

Let's see - what do I have in a folder called 'Junk Drawer' -

Camera, Game Center, Maps, Passbook, Safari, Stocks, Weather - and I'd toss in Newsstand, if I could. All embedded in the iOS as stock. Also, I've installed - and then deleted - Pages.

All Apple apps.
