Help Updating to 5.1

I want to update to 5.1 but was wondering, My iphone is jailbroke. Do I need to restore my iphone first and then update and rejailbreak? And have they released an untethered jailbreak for this software yet? Please help. Thank you!

in order to update you'll need to use iTunes and download the entire update (about 800MB). And no there is no untethered jailbreak yet. But there is a tethered jailbreak available for all devices except the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
