ios5 upgrade changing 3.10.01 baseband?

I'm currently running 4.2.1 with the hated 3.10.01 baseband that can only be unlocked with Gevey Sim. If I upgrade to ios5, will it change the baseband to something that I can unlock through normal methods? Or is there a way to upgrade that will change it to a better baseband? Thanks!

Not even the Gevey sim can unlock the iOS 5 baseband without preserving the previous basebands.
