SMS Messages on iPhone 4S

Is it possible to get text messages received on my iPhone to be forwarded to my iPad 2 and if so to be able to reply back from my iPad 2? I thought maybe this might be possible using iMessage, but I can't figure out how one would make this happen.

You can set up your iPad to get iMessages, but SMS sent to your actual phone number (non iMessage, in other words) wouldn't show up on the iPad.

I could see it working if you used a google voice number for texting, and set that to forward SMS to your iMessage email, maybe?

If your talking about iMessage then just set your phone and iPad to receive messages to your email .. Then conversations will transfer .. After changing setting on your phone reboot .. If your talking about actual texts then a forwarding option like massie said is the only way I can think of
