Jailbreak untethered question - will data be saved upon reboot?

Quick question -
I went from jailbreak tethered to the untethered version. My phone locked up on me during a reboot with the tethered version, and had to do a wipe/restore. now i'm on the untethered version - if i have to reboot my phone or if the power dies on it for some ungodly reason, will i need to run itunes restore to get my apps back on it or is this untethered version supposed to allow me to retain my data on my phone?

Untethered basically means that you can reboot without having to use a PC, it shouldn't get stuck on the Apple logo. Just to be safe, I would backup your phone if you're going to ever restore and restore from backup.
