Can't update to iOS 5.0.1

Hello everyone-

I've been trying to update to iOS 5.0.1 since the new untethered JB came out and for some reason itunes will not let me update. I am currently running on 4.3.3 with the ipad baseband on an iphone 3Gs with new bootrom, I created custom firmware with both Sn0wbreeze and redsn0w and it still won't let me update. When I attempt to update the process runs but then an error message pops up and then my iphone stuck on a recovery loop. The error that occurs is error 10. I am able to restore back to 4.3.3 through ifaith, but I would really like to be on iOS 5.0.1. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

dumb question; do you have the latest version of iTunes installed?

If you have the most current version of iTunes, I'd say the issue is host files. You're probably routing to the Cydia server instead of iTunes. Search TiPb for my tutorial on editing host files.

Before doing that try doing a recovery fix in redsn0w to see if that will get it to boot up normally.

I'm having trouble updating my 4s right now also, keeps giving me an error. If you find a reason please let me know.
