Jailbreaking iPhone 3gs to iOS 5

I have iPhone 3gs jailbroken to iOS 4.1, and I have lots of applications from installous, and i dont want to loose them, but i want to jailbreak to iOS 5... will that remove all the applications?

Second, you should be able to sync the apps to iTunes, upgrade, rejailbreak, and sync them back after you've reinstalled Install0us.
