Perhaps this should be stickied? Anyway since I've been on this forum I have seen so many Jailbreakers(JBers) who upgrade their firmware "accidentally"
Now this removes the JB and you can potentially be waiting quite awhile. I know sometimes when the update pops up it's hard to resist the temptation. So here's a way to remove the temptation from your butterfingers. Go to this link can't upgrade via iTunes check this thread http://forum.tipb.com/jailbreak-unlock-forum/212515-if-you-cant-reload-your-firmware-youre-tearing-out-your-hair-check-here.html#post1717460 it tells you how to edit your hosts file manually or using Tiny Umbrella options. If you set it so that iTunes is looking either locally or to the Cydia servers then you wont get those pesky upgrade pop ups. If you ever do want to do the upgrade then reverse the settings and bingo you will get the warnings again.
