lost contact list

I have an itunes back up but its too old to help much.

Everything was fine, then I went to make a call and everything on the phone app was frozen, so I rebooted and all I have in my list now are the last 8 contacts I added.

Looking for ideas or tips on future dif ways to do contact list back ups, thanks

Sync with google would be the best way were your contacts attached to any email address any where?

no, they were just on my phone

no, they were just on my phone

Set up a gmail with exchange that way your contacts sync and if you ever loose them or change phones they can be restored
