Unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 3Gs will not roam

Hello all,

I recently jailbroke and unlocked an iPhone 3G for my boyfriend and 3Gs for myself. We are both active on T-Mobile and have no complaints in town at all. The problem is that once we go out of town we lose service completely. In rural areas where we live Verizon and AT&T both provide great coverage but our phones will not connect to the AT&T towers at all. Can someone please help?

Under network setting is 3G cell data and roaming? I know iPhone on tmobile don't get 3G maybe it has to do with it ? I did a JB n unlock on a 3G never tried the roaming thou
