first attempt fail

hello! im new to jaikbreaking and i tried it last night and ran into a problem. i used redsn0w, i downloaded 4.3.1 thinking it would update my 4.3 when i completed the jailbreak but it didnt. im assuming thats what the problem is. cydia was installed, but crashes before anything is displayed, and so does safari. should i restore and update to 4.3.1 and try again?

i would restore and then update for 4.3.1 and then run your redsnow again. should be fine and wont take all that long either. the software does all the work. you just need a few clicks in redsnow and follow the onscreen prompts for putting into DFU mode.

PhinX is right redsn0w needs to be run on a phone that is running 4.3.1. It's supposed to be updated before you run the tool.
