*As of this moment, it's for MAC only.
*They reccomend you install this on a FRESH/UNJAILBROKEN 4.2.1. If you're on 4.1 and jailbroken it won't work. If you're running the tethered version of redsn0w it won't work. Restore to a CLEAN 4.2.1 and then jailbreak with this.

The link is there, but the file isn't on the server. The powers that be say the Windows version is coming "soon."

Hey I have a bit of a n00b question: I've got jailbroken 4.1 on my phone, if I install 4.2 before installing this will I lose all my Cydia apps?
Just did a clean install of 4.2 no waiting for windows version.

did anyone get the loader to install cydia by any chance? mine just says cannot load resources and said that make sure i am connected to the internet.
my loader took three tries to install cydia and it was super slow. i think it's just overloaded.

Jailbroken but no cydia. How do I get the Cydia app to show up?
Can't get my iPhone 3GS to get past the DFU part..
I plug my iPhone in, open the Greenpois0n app, click the JailBreak button, it starts the countdown, prepare to press and hold sleep, etc.. I go through the whole process following the steps exactly, and at the end it says Try Again? iPhone screen is black(off) but can still just barely see the lockscreen on the screen.
Anyone know how to get past this?
I've tried numerous times on my MacBook Pro and my wife's MacBook and I get stuck at Greenpois0n Initialized every time.

I Have to admit this is my first time trying a jailbreak so please forgive me noobness on this.
Having the same issue. How did you get Cydia to show up? Is there another way to get Cydia on my phone? I've restarted several times and hit the loader app several times and nothing gives me Cydia! Help!

I've been jailbreaking for a while and I'm getting the same thing. Not a "noob" thing haha.
I got the same thing. First you have to go into the host file on your computer and make sure the 'gs.apple.com' line is removed.
Then put your iPhone into DFU mode before running the jailbreak, hold the home button, then run the Greenpoision app. Continue holding the home button the entire time its jailbreaking until you see the letters running down the screen. I had to do it 5 times before it worked.
I’ve tried several times. The process seems to go well and I get the message that the jailbreak is complete and the ipad reboots. I’m not seeing the loader icon. I think also this is supposed to be installing a modded apple icon at start-up which I’m not seeing. My guess is the process is not working but I’m not seeing any kind of error. I follow the prompts and hold the buttons and release at the specified time. Screen goes dark, greenpoison seems to recognize that iPad is in DFU mode and does it’s thing. Some have suggested holding tho home button for an extended period beyond the point when it says completed but when i do that eventually I just end up with the plug into itunes screen on the iPad which means, I think, that it has gone into recovery mode.
I’ve tried this, probably 8-10 times and something is obviously wrong.
It took me several tries but I finally completed the jailbreak on my iPad. When I launch Loader there's no Cydia. At this point I think I'm jailbroken but don't know of a way to confirm that. I get the apple icon when I reboot. Aside from a Loader icon I don't know for sure if it's jailbroken or not but I assume it is. Anyone know of a surefire way to tell if it's been done properly?
I'll feel better once I can get Cydia installed but despite many attempts with Loader it's just not happening.
Have you rebooted to see if cydia will show up?
Do you see the skull icon when you start it up? Try running redsn0w to install Cydia that way, it should work.
what is wrong with the loader.. it does not show anything.

Well I am having a different issue, Greenp0ison tells me that jailbrake is complete but there is no Loader on the home screen.... Am I doing something wrong?????

this sucks, I have a mac, but it is a powerbook g4 so it will not let me run greenpoison, so I now have to wait for the windows version. Dang.
Question? My main computer is my Dell laptop. Can I uses my sisters Mac just to jailbreak my phone or do I have to wait for the PC version? Thanks in advanced.

I think I figured out a part of my problem. I ended up at How To Jailbreak iPhone 4 On iOS 4.2.1 | The Iphone Spot (sorry, cant post url as this is my first post here and it won't let me post link) which had this comment:
Run that new Greenpoisi0n with root access like this:
1: Open terminal, type sudo(space)
2: Then go to a finder window and goto the location you downloaded Greenpoisi0n RC5_2, open as "Show package contents" then goto MacOS, and drag "greenpoisi0n" into terminal.
3: make sure theres not an extra space after the file is placed into terminal, if there is; a simple backspace will take care of it.
4: Hit enter.
You are now running Greenpoisi0n in root. ...
When I did this I was able to watch the process details in the terminal window which stalled when it came to this line "Preparing to fetch DFU image from Apple's servers"
It could not fetch that because my Mac is not online! I live in a remote location and use the iPad to get online via MIWI! So, at least for me, my failed install might be related to this step. Though, I'm not sure why I was getting a completed message in my earlier attempts. I think it is assumed that everyone doing this jailbreak are online but it is not state as a requirement.

Loader is not showing Cydia :( and way to get it downloaded?
Ok so I got Greenpois0n to jailbreak. Restarted my iPhone, loader app was there, startd loader and it goes "loading sources" then I get an error that I must make sure I'm connected to the internet which I know for sure my connection is working properly
If you have access to a MAC then you can go for it, you don't have to wait.
@pod2g says loader will start working again once greenpois0n.com is back online.
Damn didn't work for me, I was on a tethered JB on my iPad. I got it as soon as I heard about it. I tried to JB and it didn't work just got stuck. So I put it into DFU and restored to OEM firmware. I tried again and no dice it froze my MBP, I had to hard boot. I tried once more without my virtual Windows running and the same thing it just sits there for 10 or 15 minutes and then crashes. Oh well I'll wait until next week or 4.3
It might have something to due with the servers for greenpois0n being down also, maybe try again this weekend when the traffic on their site has slowed down a bit.
I have the "Loader" and I have tried "redsn0w", it finishes, but no Cydia. Am I suppose to have the "Greenpois0n" icon on the iPad (4.2.1) while booting?? When I tap "Loader", it says loading, however I don't see any wifi activity on the status bar like I usually do when something is trying to download, like it's not even trying to connect to anything.
This is still a fresh release, still buggy. Might have to wait for an updated release before all these loader problems, and the wifi icon problems are fixed.
How about more detailed instructions for those of us that barely can turn on a mac?
I got terminal open, did the sudo but the rest of what you said is impossible to figure out such as "open as "Show package contents""

Has anyone had issues downloading SBSettings on 4.2.1? I can't get it to work for the life of me. I got Bitesms and Mywi working.
I haven't tried the the second release but I used redsn0w to install cydia and so far all is well, but we shall see.

I used the 2nd release. It worked smoothly first time, and installed Cydia with no issues.
My biggest issue was restoring as new from my previous j/b!
No date just have to wait.
I used this 8 hours ago and still don't see Cydia in the Loader app....
While I wish I could afford a new Mac, the vast majority of us are still waiting since we don't own one, don't know why they don't release them at the same time..

I can't even open Greenpois0n. I've tried it on two macs now and it downloads but will not open, instead I just get notified that the application has crashed.
Very frustrating. It's the version 2 directly off the GP website.

When I try to enter DFU mode it just connects to itunes restore requiring me to Factory Reset my iPod, Anyone else have this problem?
Greenpois0n 1.0 RC5 quit unexpectedly.
I got it to work with redsn0w to get cydia installed, but it was way to buggy for me. Restored my iphone 4 got an error 1013 had to redo the host file and now all better and restored. I used the 2nd version of Greenpois0n. I'm gonna wait til a 4.3 jb comes out I think.
They don't release them at the sae time because it's not always that easy to port it to Windows. So us Mac users would be stuck waiting forever. Also we are the beta testers so the Windows version will have all the bugs fixed that us Mac users have to put up with. I'm about to try it again now that I'm at home we'll see if it's any different.
BOOM worked on the first shot took about a minute. I don't know whether it was an issue with the firewall at work or if it had something to do with the servers being down or hit hard.
The people experiencing issues make sure your Mac and also iTunes is at the latest version it's good to have all your updates applied. Then if your iDevice is on an untethered JB try restoring to an OEM firmware and retry the process. You can also try plugging your Mac right into your internet cable instead of going through your router. This will make sure it's not a firewall issue.
My problem now is a blank loader, perhaps I will try Redsn0w to install Cydia. *Instead of using Redsn0w to install Cydia try relaunching the Loader after relaunching it 9 times and leaving it blank on the 10th time it had the Install Cydia which I just did. It is all working fine :D

Shortest jailbreak ever. Less than 6 hours before I had to restore. I'm done with this jailbreak thing. I downloaded qStatus or qTweeter or whatever, and it put my phone into a loop.
Does this carrier unlock too?

Well I can't even get greenpoison to recognize that my iphone is in DFU mode. I've tried holding the home button the entire way through, tried letting up right after DFU...nothing works and then the program will randomly crash. Any thoughts?
Windows version is out. It worked with my already tether jailbroke iPod Touch 4G. WOO! :D
Got it working. Not exactly the easiest JB ever but not too bad. It too two tries to get Cydia loaded plus a reboot but finally got it up.
Here is what I did. Maybe it will help:;)
I'm on a Mac
I updated iTunes to 10.1.2
I "checked" the box to make iTunes NOT sync automatically when I plugged in my iPhone to the computer. (This was more for convenience.)
I did NOT turn off my iPhone like the direction said to in the Forums. I left it on so that is was just "charging" when I plugged it into the computer.
I then open GreenPo1son on my Mac.
I followed the directions on GP to put my iPhone in DFU mode instead of the Video the TiPB directions take you too.
Once iPhone went "blank" I hit "JailBreak" icon on GP.
Sat back and watched.:cool:
Like I said, It took about twice to download Cydia from Loader, then I had to ReBoot the iPhone to get Cydia to work. I also had to do some updates on Cydia before I download any apps. Standard updates though.
So far so good! I have not and am NOT planning on installing Winterboard though. Never liked it that much.;)
