Is there anything i should do right away when i get my iphone today? as far as preparring for a jailbreak? im sure mine will have 4.2.1 on it so i know there is no untetherd one yet..

If this is your first ever iPhone, why are you even thinking of jailbreaking? Learn the device first.

no, i have owend all of the iphones..i jsut have not been in the Iphone community in a while..

There is a wealth of information in the forums in sticky threads with titles like "read this first." I would start there.

Be prepared for a jailbreak that is a PITA on 4.2.1 is the first thing you should do, lol. Tethered jailbreaks are such an irritation. If i had not previously been JB'ed before, i would have just left this iPhone 4 i have un-JB'ed and waited for an untethered version (some day, lol).

Yea I am still on 4.1 JB. I think I will just patiently wait for 4.2 untethered lol.

Still on 4.0.1 here...waiting on the 4.2.1 untethered.

The last time I waited on a firmware was going from 2.0 to 3.1.2 lol seems like so long ago. If you get the phone with 4.2 on it then after you JB it head to Cydia and backup your shsh blobs just because. It's tethered as you've said so just pick your poison and JB. If by some miracle it doesn't have 4.2 then jump for joy JB and backup your shsh then decide whether you want to wait or go tethered.
