I have an ancient iPhone 2G that I want to jailbreak. I just want to use it as a fancy iPod, basically. No cellular service. It doesn't have a SIM so it won't do anything at all right now. I've got the 3.1.3 ipsw but I can't find an older version of redsn0w or pwnage with which to modify it.

What should I do?

I had found that page but all the links were dead. I eventually found an old version of redsn0w and the 3.1.2 firmware. However it looks like the power button on this phone is broken. I can't turn it off in order to get it to DFU. Guess it is going to the garbage dump.

I wouldn't toss it. Throw it up on eBay as "For Parts". You'd definitley get something for it if only the power button doesn't work.
