A question before buying iPhone 4

I have a t-mobile Sim card and I want to buy an iPhone 4. Is it possible to buy it from best buy without a contract and use my friend's at&t Sim card for activation then Jailbreak the iPhone and use it with my Sim.
is it possible co activate without Sim card.

I'm sure, like Apple, Best Buy will be happy to sell you the iPhone 4 without a contract - for full price. But you can certainly use your friend's AT&T sim card to activate it and jailbreak. Depending on the firmware, you might not even need the sim to activate as some jailbreaks allow for "hacktivation."

You do realize that an iPhone 4 on T-Mo will not allow you 3G, right?

I know for my indirect AT&T channel, i.e. AT&T Auth Retailer, we CANNOT sell an iPhone to anyone that does not have an at&t account. Period.

I believe Apple will, but thats it.
