the new exploits for jailbreaking dont work on 2g or 3g right?

I have tried many times with both tools and no matter what software is running on a phone, it never jb's 2g or a 3g iphone, only 3gs and 4g

anyone get it to work?

These are bootrom exploits that only work on 3GS or iP4. Use Redsn0w for 2G and 3G.

thanks. Thats what i figured but neither tool tells you that it only works with 3gs and up

I believe you could also use pwnage tool for jailbreaking. It's mainly used when people need to preserve their baseband for unlocking. I know I used it for my 3G. And like Farbod said, Redsnow works.

yes you can use pwnage tool to JB 3G and 2G but you need the version that works for the firmware you need to JB. You can find it all at iclarified.com
