Quick (probably easy) question before Jailbreak

Hi,

I'm new to the jailbreaking scene. I've been reading up on it, but just wanted to verify something. I have an iPhone 4, iOS 4.0.1.

I'm going to install Cydia and buy a few apps.

When iOS 4.1 comes out, and let's say is really awesome, the steps will be:

Wait for the dev team to come out with a new jailbreak method.

Install 4.1 from iTunes.

Jailbreak with the new method. Now, I'm assuming I won't have to buy the apps I purchased from Cydia again, correct? Just reinstall right?

Thanks in advance :)

That is correct, but they may not be compatible with the latest version of iOS. You may have to wait for the dev of the apps for them to be compatible.

Awesome, thanks for the reply.

And do I leave itunes to sync and backup normally? To transfer and sync music/normal Apple apps and whatnot?

Your iTunes sync will be normal, it just won't backup your Cydia apps. If you have a ton of JB apps, it might be worth looking into something like PkgBackup, which can help automate the reinstall process after an update.
