I am new to the Iphone scene and loving it so far, but I am getting mixed reports from some of these threads. I am looking to unlock my Iphone, but it does have the newest 3.1.3 installed on it. So just to clarify, at this point there is NO way to unlock it. Correct???? Thanks in advance.

To unlock? No. But to jailbreak, if your iPhone meets the criteria, yes.

But there will be a way to unlock sometime in the near future.

What model iPhone do you have? What's your modem firmware? Have you jailbroken before? Are you on Windows or Mac? What's your model #?

I went to the ih8sn0w.com and used the forcast and it said it could be jailbroken only if the shsh was saved???? What does that mean?

Ahh, the issue here is that your 3G[s] most likely has the new bootrom, which prevent unlocking on 3.1.3/5.12 baseband.

Unfortunately, there are no tools to jailbreak a 3G[s] running stock 3.1.3. ESPECIALLY if you were never jailbroken before.

Unfortunately, you may have to wait until they release 3.2.

When did you buy your 3G[s]? Is it an MCxxxxxx model?

I have only had it foe a few weeks, and yes it is a MC model. What did the website mean by only if the shsh was saved?

It means you had to have already jailbroken your phone and used Cydia to store your SHSH - which, obviously, you haven't done.

That's assuming that 3.2 will be put on iPhones. I have a sneaky feeling that we're going straight to 4.0.

Well I asked Jeremy Sikora on Twitter to clarify wether or not the 3.2 OS was being released on the forums.

But he ignores me.

So there's no definitive answer to that yet.
