I just got my used iphone 3g today. it's running fw version 3.0.1. can somebody please link me to or describe the quickest/easiest/safest way to jailbreak and unlock this phone for use on t-mobile? thank you. and if this has been posted in the wrong section, I'm very sorry, this is my first time posting. let me know how where to post in the future.

- Update to 3.1.2
- jailbreak with blackweather
- install Cydia
- install blacksn0w from Cydia ( to unlock )
- turn off 3G ( TMobile 3G is not compatible with the iPhone )
- call TMobile and get proper network settings for MMS ( tell them you have an iPhone )
- enjoy your phone. DO NOT UPDATE TO 3.1.3

a guide that I read for unlocking with ultrasn0w says

Please note that this method is only suitable to work with iPhone 3G which was previously unlocked with YellowSnow.

should I heed this warning or is it safe to use ultrasn0w on a 3g that hasn't been unlocked yet?
or is there a better/newer tool for use with fw version 3.1?
