stuck on battery charging screen

ok i knew this day would come that it wouldnt last forever but i have a 3gs 32gig jb on 3.0.1 it is on 4.26 bb it has went dead and will not come back on i have tried force restore tried to put in dfu mode called apple tecs im just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue before or if i have any other options besides sending it to apple and the possibility of them upgading it to 3.1.3 and the bb update or them sending me a new phone back w the new bootrom version ive read that i acn change the battery but i believe that it will cancel my warranty any thoughts i am open to so maybe someone can help me out
