Made sure not to load newest software. Looking forward to jailbreak in the next dat or two.

Keep in mind that if you loaded the newest software (OS 3.1.3) blackra1n will NOT work yet for jailbreaking. Also, I believe blacksn0w will not work either with the new bootrom. So you might be out of luck, unless you want to downgrade back to 3.1.2

The bootrom is an issue with hardware, and can be unlocked, you just have to do it with a tethered jailbreak.

Bootrom and baseband is two different things. The baseband is related to unlocking and the bootrom is related to tethered jailbreak.
