I read this some where but im hopeing i miss understood it..If say im on 2.2.1 or what ever on a 2g or 3g and i wanna upgrade to 3.0 and rejailbreak and unlock..Is IT TRUE that itunes will not allow you to upgrade to anything lower then there newest version 3.1.2?

download whichever 3.0 firmware you need from icommunity (google "icommunity" and click on first thing) then restore to that firmware, then jailbreak using redsnow and your good.

...but, yes, it's true. iTunes will only let you upgrade to the newest firmware.
