JB & Unlock ?

Sorry for posting this but I have researced on here and still confused. I have a 3GS that I got in June with AT&T. I went to a local cell company today to see about using it with them. I was told that i needed to call AT&T and get a unlock code, but from what i gather AT&T doesn't do that. If i cant get the unlock code from them will I be able to do a unlock myself and that work? I'm wanting to jailbreak it but I have 3.1.2 with 5.11.07 and from i've read that version cant be jailbroke and unlocked, is that correct? Thanks for the help!

Unlocked - not at the moment

Good luck getting the unlock from AT&T.

You can jailbreak, but there's currently no way to jailbreak that baseband version.

yes there is...i have 5.11.07 and i JB no problem, easy as 1,2,3

Just called at&t to see if i could get unlock code, was told there system said there is no codes for the iphone since they are not to be unlocked.
