PLEASE help - major problem with iPhone 3G!!

I have a jalibroken iPhone 3G running firmware 3.0 and its locked on O2.

Recently for some reason I've noticed that the signal on my iphone is totally screwed. I can only get signal if my iPhone gets 3G signal; but if it only gets EDGE or GPRS then the little icon (o or E) comes up but no bars and you can't call/text. Also, if I lose my 3G signal I have to restart the iPhone to get it back.

I'm NOT 100% positive but sounds to me If you've rebooted and that doesn't correct the issue. The Only alternative is to restore. Maybe somewone else has the answer you are looking for. hope this ehlped. HAND/MGBU, IGoSlo
