So if we had access to a Mac could a Windows user DL pwnagetool and generate the firmware. Then transfer that to a Windows computer and restore the iPhone from that?

I use windows and linux and am not so patiently waiting for the jailbreak to come out for windows.

Exactly correct. I did it myself with 3 3GS's. If noone else has done so byt the time I get home at 4PM Central, I will post a copy of the firmware I used.

Wow I'm really surprised at so many Windows users. I only use my phone on Mac side so Mac OS here.

Windows. Just isn't worth the $$$ to me to buy a Mac.
