Also found this doing a google search to downgrade a 3gs, anyone know if this works? I'm too scared to try anything.

It is made for the Ipod Touch, so i am going to say no it will not work with phones. If you have a 3gs the only hope you have is to have stored your ECID info on Saurik's server. If you have done that then a simple mod to Itunes will allow you to down grade to 3.0 following the steps on his site. I had my info stored and was able to restore to 3.0 and stay away from 3.1. If you have a 3g or original follow the steps on saurik's site and you can down grade.
