problems with wifi jailbreak with redsnow

i am using a 2g iphone i ought it from a friend for 40 bucks i didnt want to use the att $30 data plan so i decided to jailbreak and unlock it using redsnow .72 and the iphone 3.0 update i have successfully ran the program but i can not connect with wifi or bluetooth it says its searching but keeps looking. i have rebooted the phone and reinstalled the jailbreak many times 3 to be exact and no wifi or bluetooth please help!!
