Jailbreaking question (3.0.1/ iPhone 3G)

If I download and install 3.0.1 and then restore from my back up with 3.0 on it will the jailbreak work?

You can jailbreak 3.0.1 using redsn0W .8 and the 3.0 ipsw. purplera1n does not work at this time.

MuscleNerdRT @iphone_dev Early adopters have found that redsn0w JB *already* works on 3.0.1 (just point it at 3.0 IPSW!) Even for 3GS & ultrasn0w.

From Twitter. To me this means it works on all platforms.

Yes why are you going to restore?If you update you do not lose any info.

When you jailbreak nothing is removed from your iPhone. And wether you should jailbreak or not depends on what you need and want on your iPhone.

thank you. Okay if it dosent clear anything that makes it more appealing. I read that you had your phone jailbroken did you see any performance differences comparded to not being jailbroken. Will purplra1n come out with a 3.0.1 jailbreak. People seem more happy with it then redsnow.
