Im using quickpwn 2.2 to break it.
Everything is fine, however on start up, cydia + installer are nowhere to be found on the phone.
I have the option selected in quickpwn, but they dont seem to install.

Anything Im missing? Thanks

If I restore. Do I lose all my contacts. And if they do get lost is there anyway I can store them without having to write them all out on notepad?

actually I am missing many apps on my phone. Like settings camera and clock. I think categories might have them hidden after the jailbreak. Goddamn it.

Your contact info you can sync with iTunes or OUtlook. There are many options for syncing.

After you jailbreak, it is highly recommended that when you restore you should start from scratch and not use a backup. Especially if you use Categories or if you hide icons using SBSettings or BossPrefs.

I am not using outlook or anything else on my computer. So I dont have any program on my computer that they are synced with.
Are my contacts saved on my sim card?

No. What might work is signing up for the 2 week trial of MobileMe and using that to backup your contacts.

Had the same problem and found this searching the net... Quick easy fix for the catogories problem

"I had the missing Cydia and Installer issue as well.
What worked for me was to delete the Springboard plist file.
You can use iPhone Browser
(iphonebrowser - Google Code)
to access the root directory of your jailbroken iPhone.
The file to delete is:
/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist
After you delete it, reboot and all missing icons will reappe
