I'm already Jailbroken. Is it safe to upgrade to MacOS X 10.5.6?

I have a new 3G/2.2 iPhone that's already happily Jailbroken. Is it safe to upgrade to MacOS X 10.5.6? I'm not interested in unlocking the phone.

If I understand this stuff, my risk is that if I want to Factory Restore the phone, I can't enter DFU mode.

Is that it?

You could do a restore if you updated. The issue came into play if you previously did not jailbreak at all and then tried to on the updated Mac OS.
