Iphone 6s software update notification on itunes

Plugged into itunes today and says software update 9.2.1 available for my phone. Funny thing is my phone is up to date. I recently changed carriers (aswell as sim card for new carrier) would this have anything to do with it? Are software updates different for different carriers?

Doesn't have to do with your carrier change This is an additional update to iTunes updaters only (i.e. not OTA) that fixes the "Error 53" issue.

It just came as a normal update though , i didn't have to restore or hold any buttons and still is 9.2.1, is that correct?

Michael. What is your build number that you now have on your phone ? (13D15). The new 9.2.1 update has build number (13D20)

Right, just update as usual. I don't know why they didn't make it 9.2.2 to keep from confusing people (and even offer it OTA) but if you're doing it in iTunes it's safe to update.

Right. It was just coincidence
