9.3 public beta is live!

I decided to install it after reading through this forum in the wee hours of the morning. I haven't used a beta in a long time and it's the first I've installed on my 6s Plus, but things are running very smooth! Also, I'm loving the warmer screen setting. It made having my screen on with my tired eyes very pleasant. Lol

The battery life, I can't really tell yet. I've been using it a little more today because my baby brother got an iPad for his birthday/Christmas and has been on FaceTime with me nonstop.

Re: 9.3 public beta is go!

1. Go to Settings → Display & Brightness
2. Enable the toggle next to "Blue Light Reduction".
3. Slide the lever to the desired position between Cooler and warmer. Warmer reduces the blue light which allows for less strain on your eyes when reading at night.
4. You can also select a schedule when you want Night Shift mode to auto-start and end.

Anyway, I hope I was helpful to you.

On my iPhone 6, I had a "sunset to sunrise" on option. On my iPad Air 2, only off or custom. Anyone else?

Interesting. On my phone I don't have sunrise to sunset only custom. Now I gotta install beta on iPad to see...

My iPad mini 2 has all three options. Works great. So far, the only glitch is my banking app crashing when logging in. Gonna still keep my iPhone 6 on 9.2 to do my banking I guess.

The additional option in the Night Shift menu is dependent on whether or not the iOS device has a cellular radio to determine timezone for sunrise/sunset times. You won't have the third option if you device only has wifi connectivity.

Then how would that explain that my iPhone which has a cellular radio doesn't have the sunrise sunset option but my wifi only iPad mini has the sunrise sunset option.

Your iPhone is broken and your iPad has superpowers.

It uses your clock and geolocation to determine night shift times as explained [URL="https://forums.imore.com/e?link=https%3A%2F%2Fapple.sjv.io%2Fc%2F221109%2F473657%2F7613%3FsubId1%3DUUimUvbUpU2683168%26subId2%3Dvbim%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.apple.com%252Fios%252Fios-13%252F%26ourl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.apple.com%252Fios%252Fpreview%252F%253Fafid%253Dp239%25257C159229%2526cid%253Daos-us-aff-ir%2526subId1%253DUUimUvbUpU2683168%2526subId2%253Dvbim%2522&token=Na7NTYE1]here[/URL].

Maybe you have disabled system specific location services in privacy settings? Especially the timezone setting (don't know if that is the correct wording in english) is mandatory to have the "automatic" option for Nightshift.

Regards.
