Apple Music Question

We went to see a band that isn't in iTunes yesterday (Blackeyed Dempseys) and we bought their CD. I ripped the CD to my iTunes.

Here's where I'm stuck. We have the Apple Music family plan. Right after I ripped the CD, it showed up in my "My Music" on my iPhone. It did not show up on my son's iPhone. We then copied the files over to his computer, added them to his iTunes library, but they still won't show up in his "My Music" in Apple Music.

Am I missing something?

He needs to sync his phone to iTunes. Apple Music will not upload that music to his phone-that is what iTunes Match does.

Ok I referenced the article iMore posted and it should, but it also says he would need to go and download it. It didn't say automatically.

So then I found this article here at iMore about the family sharing. It says that music you upload will NOT auto download for him, as you (should) have separate IDs. It says he would have access to your purchased through iTunes music, not your manual uploads (which is more of what iTunes Match would do), so if the music is in his iTunes library, try syncing his phone. It should copy over.
