It almost feels like Apple is trying to move away from email all together on iOS devices...kind of strange there was nothing added to it at all.

Yup! I was waiting for mail app and NOTHING! And the new "features" were long overdue which they have finally brought into iOS 9. Highly disappointed! :|

Probably because iMessage is proprietary to Apple devices and email isn't. So I'm expecting more enhancements to iMessage in the next couple of years. They're probably trying to get people off email by identifying as something old which I know is hard to think.

Thats kind of what I'm thinking...like iMessage will start integrating email into your conversations on iMessage...that would be pretty awesome honestly, but they'd need to really be careful trying to just completely blur the line, because there are some things that still feel like they need to be isolated within an email type format.

I trust Apple's progression and development, so I'll just stay patient and watch what they come up with.

They didn't really say anything about the messages app either. Will be interesting to see what the dev beta unveils that wasn't mentioned today.

Looks like Mail on iOS9 has some sort of iCloud Drive integration, so they've made some changes anyway.

Maybe they'll delve more into Mail and Messages when they do the hardware event... whenever they do that... Late July... August...early September...

I was looking forward to seeing some changes to the Apple Mail app other than the swipe gestures, but hopefully, they'll surprise us when the new iPhone is unveiled.

Yeah, I was just messing with the app myself and saw that...I got a weird message though when I sent a test email to myself with a pages attachment...it said that the file could not be sent because it was not a "picture file", but it sent just fine regardless. Probably just a hiccup or something...pretty awesome that the attachment function worked flawlessly and sent flawlessly (aside from that little message pop up).

How do I get this toolbar? I see no such thing.

Nevermind. I got it. It requires a long tap/hold ("force touch"?) in the mail body area. Nice.

I think the reason is that Apple wants everyone to go off email due to privacy reasons and use the encrypted iMessage across all devices.

PS/ I think this is my 500th post!!!
