I just updated my 6 Gen Touch with no problems. Could there be a issue with you internet connection?

Do you have at least 600 meg space on your iPod, have you tried updating via iTunes.

Maybe has something to do with your connection? If your connection is good try on the computer or try deleting some apps install the update then reinstall them if you have adequate space
