Why can't I connect my iPad Air to the server?

Need help with my iPad Air "cannot connect to server"

Hi,can anyone please help me in plain old English how to sort the problem with my emails,since updating to iOS 8.3 I'm not receiving any emails I've tried rebooting my iPad and my internet connection and none of these have worked.im a bit of a novice at the moment so any help would be appreciated,thank you .
