Hey Nikki, did you find it? Go into settings/messages. Scroll down to near bottom and you'll see an option "filter unknown sender" option to turn on/off
    Thanks Pink, I found it

Did you do as Rene's blog article suggested? Something else? Nothing??
I didn't do anything. I was just curious and tried to see what happened.

Oh no... I spoke too fast:
My battery life is dwindling down to noting at high speed on my iPad.
I've turned off background apps, rebooted...
    Now what?

Exactly. I made a complaint. Simple and plain. I didn't blame Apple for anything. I said the addition of the new emojis wasn't as cool since I can't use them as frequently. Not sure why your input and defense of Apple was needed.
Your friends will still be able to see them, they just can't see the different skin tone. I tried it out with my GS5 & 6+...I still see the emojis

Oh, I figured it out... And in case I had any doubt, I am still a techtard, lol.
I'm burning battery at Mach 2 because I'm setting up my icloud photo library and I have a lot of pics that need uploading and downloading in every direction.
    *facepalm*

I swear that this version is the most solid version of 8.x released to date. This thing is rock-solid stable. It's much faster, animations seem smoother with less dropped frames, apps seem to launch faster, apps come back from suspended mode faster, even apps seem far more responsive. I also seem to be having less app refreshes including Safari tabs.

All in all, Apple really hit it out of the park with this release.

This feels exactly like the 7.1 release. You're right.

There was a fix for it posted on the main page of this site...
Touch ID not working for you post iOS 8.3? Here's the fix!
You don't have to reboot the phone though, you can skip that step. I did and it works fine.

Didn't experience iOS 7, I was still using Android at the time. I recently converted to the iPhone and iOS. I've had my iPhone for about two months, maybe a month and a half.

It's truly nice to have a device that gets timely software updates.

7.1 was basically what iOS 7 should have been from the start. Once these updates get into the hands of millions of users it's practically beta testing now.

Hopefully this new public beta system will help along for future iOS major releases.

Found out today that in Chrysler/Jeep vehicles with UConnect, the system now can read your texts, where before it couldn't - was only available for Android devices until this new update for iOS. Pretty cool addition IMO.

There is no "Done" button on the Top Right screen after I created a playlist. So I can't create it...

I sort of did what the blog article said. I went into settings, turned off touchid for iTunes/AppStore and rebooted the phone. Then when I went back into settings to touchid back on for iTunes/AppStore, it was already enabled. That was the first odd thing. Then I went into the AppStore and bought a free app. Although I had previously set it to download free apps without a password, it prompted me for my password (not touchid because it was the first time after rebooting). Downloaded another free app and got promoted for touchid. So the ability to get free apps without a password (or presumably touchid) seems to be gone. I haven't bought a paid app yet to see if I get the touchid prompt yet, but since I get the touchid prompt for free apps, I'm going to assume it will work.
I did a wipe and restore as new. Have done this in a while so I figured what the heck. This thing is smoking fast now.

The new emoji would be cool if they weren't limited those with iPhones on 8.3. I'm one of the few iPhone users in my text circle. And all they are seeing are aliens or crowns. I've gotten my wife to update but everyone else is on Android. So until other platforms update their system the new emojis aren't that great of an addition.
Use the app Phonto to make some photos with the emoji. Keep a few faves handy to send with texts. Like this:

Well, this update is fine on my phone and itouch, but it has crippled my iPad. I did a full factory reset and it made it worse. I give up.
