Hi I'm new on iOS and manually downloaded the os the latest iOS 8.2 and I'm looking for a way to install it on my iPhone 5c
No I don't want to use iTunes to update
Is there a way I can instal the downloaded-file on my phone manually?

It is easier to simply go to Settings - General - Software Updates to update your device. iTunes is not needed. Just be sure you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. Besides, you would have to use iTunes to install the download .ipsw file.

    1. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and then imitate the computer's iTunes app.
    3. When iTunes recognizes the iPhone, select your iPhone and then select "check for updates" in the Summary tab.
    4. Select download and update.

If you're certain you want to install the downloaded .ipsw file, then complete steps 1 and 2 above.
    3. When iTunes recognizes your iPhone, press the CTRL or Option key while pressing "restore".
    4. Select the .ipsw file to install it.

If you didn't get the .ipsw file from the iOS developer site, I highly recommend you update OTA or via the traditional method using iTunes.
