No such setting on TMO in USA. Wish there was like on my BlackBerry (so many features I say that for).

Would really help in low signal areas where I just need to get emails without having my battery drain.

Yes indeed man. I've seen in other places people saying it may come via carrier update but we'll just have to play the waiting game.

If it comes by a Carrier update I'll be waiting forever then, since my Carrier 3 UK hasn't pushed out a Carrier update since iOS 7.1.2.

Where do you see that? I have the 6+ on Verizon and I just switched from att. I only ever get see 3G, 1x or lte. I've never seen 4g come up on my stat bar :(. Explain?
When you turn LTE off in settings, it is then on 4G. Go to Settings >Cellular >Toggle off LTE. Again. With LTE off, you're on 4G. Well, when away from wifi.

Mine looks different from yours. Even the arrow on the top left is different.

I'm on 8.1 and when I toggle lte off it just goes to 3G. Picture below. Why does my settings look different from yours?

As others stated there is no step between 3G and LTE with Verizon. At&t's "4G" was a marketing ploy to describe their faster 3G network.

2G as option - enable or disable : is disabled by apple long time ago. This feature you will find on iPhone 3G/3Gs maybe iPhone 4 as well.
