SMS syncing is working from my MPA and my 5S. Had to enter a code on my iPhone but after that all new SMS messages sync.

Just downloaded the IPSW and installed took about 5 min, very clean. Have not set up Apple Pay yet, but so far other tests prove solid. Seems like a clean update w/o issue.

Why do I need a Wi-Fi connection to download a 127MB update? Especially when the patch fixes Wi-Fi connectivity. SMH.
Because iOS doesn't allow you to download anything over 100 MB's over cellular for your own good.
    Me too, totally unlimited!!!!!

That 100 MB limit was also agreed upon by the carriers as well as Apple. Even if you have unlimited data, they don't want you downloading multi-GB updates to your phone over cellular.

Took about 20 minutes. As soon as I open my phone I get this, which has been a problem in iOS 8. It just won't go away. iOS 8.1 released. Feedback/Bugs Thread-imageuploadedbytapatalk1413828265.538866.jpg

Is this a staggered update? My 6 says "iOS 8.0.2 Your software is up to date" when I check it here in Tennessee.
finally downloading. Apparently I had to turn off wifi to check for the update (for some reason it was not seeing the update while on wifi), then turn it back on to download.

Found something that looked like a bug. I couldn't add/remove widgets, the "edit" button (NC screen today's view) was not visible. Restarted the device and that seemed to fix it.

It seems to be running quick and smooth on my iPhone 5. The screen rotation issue seems to be fixed. It's not getting stuck in landscape mode.

Feels like transitioning through apps is much more fluid. And I can say safari is definitely more responsive and snappy.

I'm actually having the bluetooth disconnect issue between my 6 Plus and macbook pro 2013. Was trying to enable the SMS thing. Keeps disconnecting. Not going to troubleshoot it. After reboots they should work just fine and they don't. Just going to leave things as is.

Anyone have the option to select LTE, 3G or 2G like it says in the release notes? I don't have the option. Maybe carrier specific? With Rogers in Canada

Afaik you don't have to pair the iPhone and MacBook for the SMS handoff to work. It just works if they are both on same wifi and on the same iCloud account.

They are. When I go to Settings - Messages - Text Forwarding and I toggle it on, it asks me to enter the code showing on my Mac to enable it. Various reboots of both devices, and I do not get a code on the Mac.

Ahh, ok. I meant you didn't have to go thru the Bluetooth settings to pair them that way. I flipped mine on on the phone and got the confirmation codes on both my Mac and iPad.

To enable "Text Message Forwarding", both (all) devices must be signed into the same iCloud account and connected to the same WiFi network. You set the SMS Message Forwarding from your iPhone:

    1. Go to Settings > Messages
    2. Tap Text Message Forwarding
    3. Turn on forwarding for the computers/tablets that you want to use
    4. Each computer will get a popup with a 6 digit code
    5. Enter that code to activate the Text Message Forwarding on that computer/tablet
