iOS won't update to 8.0.2

Coming from 8.0.

This morning I plugged in my iPhone to update it via iTunes. I backed it up then started the update. It downloaded fine, extracted the software, but then it put my iPhone into recovery mode. It wouldn't take the phone out of recovery mode through iTunes, and pretty much bricked my phone. I was in a rush so I used TinyUmbrella and pulled it out of recovery mode.

I just came home and attempted to update again. Once again - it put my phone into recovery mode. Any ideas why? Not a huge deal to me...I just won't update, but I'm curious.

iPhone 6. Should have specified that.

Both my 6 and 6 Plus (both 128GB) timed out during the 8.0 to 8.0.2 update. I think it was just growing pains with the software and platform.

My 5c updated with no issues. My 6 updated then the screen froze up after the update. I had to do a hard reset (lock key/home button) in order to get it running again. And that was 8.0 to 8.0.2 (did not touch the 8.1).
