The new feature I just found out about is the app battery usage in settings. is there a way to cut down on the high # percentage. I know you turn off anything & everything you don't need. other than deleting itNew feature-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1411346921.452766.jpg is there anything else you can do

It depends on the reason for the battery percentage being high. If it's because it's an app you use a lot, then it should be fine. If it's an app that you purposefully let do background app refreshes, location services, or whatever, then that's not a problem either. If it's an app you know you haven't used much, then that's when you should investigate it. Like here's my usage so far today:
    Attachment 65539
But I'm not concerned because those are the apps I've been using the most.

since I use messages app alot, that fine for the percentage to be high, right. I don't have app updates turned on at all

I'm guessing you also spent a good deal of time rearranging your home screen on the new phone as well. That seems normal as well.

Usage is just that. The more you use something it will display. I don't see anything crazy on yours but low signal.

The more messages you save in the message app does it bring the percentage up

Low signal is when your cellular signal is low. Your phone uses more battery because it's constantly searching for a signal to maintain a network connection. It's not a good thing.

Low signal is nothing you have control over right. Except report it to at&t

Basically. You could try switching off LTE if you're in a marginal area for it, but of course that would drop you to 3G speeds and may not help.

Ask AT&T about getting one of their mini cell towers for your house. I forget exactly what they are called though.

Microcell. What is strange is that I still get low signal warnings even on WiFi.
