Does iOS 8 finally introduce a data cap option similar to what android offers?

Verizon alerts at 50%, 75% and 90% data usage. But I too use data intensive apps and other usage for wifi. When away from wifi, I do little other than talking or a few texts.

I wish my carrier let me know that often... I only get a text at 90% data usage...

This was one of those features I liked with android but I found myself hardly using it and forgetting. There was no real interaction with the user it was just there and you had to check it,..I don't recall a notification as such..

Does the carrier app automatically notify you when you're running out of data?
Verizon sends me a text message with the data usage. It's one reason I use the Do Not Disturb feature. Some of those data alerts came at 3:00 am. But it also shows in the app and the MyVerizon online site.

I'm on T-Mobile with 5GB per month, one of the reasons I chose them is that there is no cap, just slowed speed. But, as an option, I can buy 500MB for the day or 1GB for the week ($10) in case I need it.

Coverage is great, speed is blazing fast and the price is right.
